How can I get more Engagement on YouTube?

08/24/2022

YouTube is still an integral part of any social media marketing campaign. In fact, video has always been a big hit as it conveys more detail about what you offer; more than an image can! Add to the huge traffic that this social platform has, it should be clear that you need to incorporate it into your marketing strategy! YouTube can, however, be a heavily competitive platform, especially in such a small marketplace, that is Malta. Original videos are becoming much easier to create, and they don't stay original for long as anyone will be able to follow in your footsteps and recreate. This is why engagement is essential to get you above and beyond your competitors.

Here's how you should go about:

Build relationships with your viewers

The more viewers and followers you have the better the outcome; the end goal here is the realistic, organic and sustainable path to getting more YouTube views. Engaging with other You Tubers, not only content creators, but commentators as well, increases the chance that they'll care about your brand, subscribe to your channel, and watch more of your videos. Reply to comments, run contests, make reaction videos and include others' content in your videos for that added boost.

Partner up

Not every You Tuber is out to get you! In fact, partnering up with others can get you new viewers. Do crossovers, guest appearances, mash-ups, covers, etc. - people love that jolt of unfamiliar familiarity. Hiring a creator with their own following is an obvious choice but it may not bring the results that you wish for. However, getting more views is your goal, in which case your best bet is to partner with like-minded creators. Ideally, ones that are fairly aligned in values, popularity, and charm.

Ask your viewers to subscribe to your channel

When people are browsing through YouTube, their mind is already set on what the next video will be. Since they are easily distracted, they might not hit the like or subscribe even if they did like your content. That is why reminding your viewers to "like and subscribe" as a sign-off in a video is common practice. You can even include a call to action as a visual at the end. Always remember the end goal, which is to increase your target audience. Your subscriber count corresponds to your organic reach on YouTube. The more subscribers your channel has, the more views your videos will get right off the bat, when you hit publish...especially if those subscribers have their notifications turned on.
