Taking Steps to Increase Facebook Engagement

06/09/2022

We have spoken about Facebook engagement and its importance before; however, we cannot stress this enough. Facebook engagement is essential, especially in such a highly competitive market such as the one in Malta and Gozo. Simply having a social media presence is not enough! One has to engage with their followers to create a lasting relationship, otherwise, it will be very easy for them to move on to the next seller.

Take note of the following tips and tricks that can help you increase your engagement and thus relevance in the Maltese market.

Boost Posts

This is one of the simplest forms of advertising you can go for. By boosting a post more people will get a chance to view it. Even those who don't follow you yet.

Jump on Trends

See what posts are trending and jump into that conversation. This is a way for you to diversify your content and to show that your brand has range.

Scope out the Competition

See what your competitors are up to! You not only get to get new ideas for content, but you can also stay updated on what they are up to and make sure that you are not left behind.

Reuse Successful Content

Have a look at your Facebook metrics, and see which posts created the most engagement. Either reuse that post or create posts that are similar to it to get a bit more engagement out of it.

Do Not ask for Likes & Shares

Facebook refers to this as engagement bait; simply asking people to like and share in each post will get you penalized by Facebook by downranking you in their algorithm. However, there are some workarounds you can use on this front.

Run Competitions

Here's another way you can indirectly ask for likes and shares; get a competition, contest or giveaway going. People love free stuff and it is a great way to get people excited to engage and follow your page.
